Discovery and Adventure Kidz
We have a fun learning environment called Discovery Kidz for preschool children from the ages of 3 years old to Pre-Kindergarten. It is our desire to teach these young children about the faithfulness of God and how He loves them through storytelling, games and creative activities. We want them to understand that God's word is as true for them today as it is for them years later when they are adults. And they are NOT too young to learn!! Our goal is to help a child believe three key things by the time they are five years old:
- God made me.
- God loves me.
- Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Adventure Kidz is broken down into two classes, K-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade. These classes meet during the worship service each Sunday from 10:00-11:00 am on the second floor up the second set of stairs. If you are interested in having your child attend and need help finding where they need to go, please go to the Information Center and someone there will be able to help you.
For the preschool through fifth grade students we are using the Gospel Project curriculum from Lifeway. “The Gospel Project takes kids on a Christ-centered, chronological journey through Scripture. Kids discover how the gospel unfolds from Genesis through Revelation. When kids truly experience the gospel, their hearts are transformed. It is the gospel, not good behavior, that changes everything.” (Lifeway.com) As the students travel through the bible they will understand that the bible is not a collection of small stories, but one unified story of God’s redemption. The students spend equal amounts of time in the Old and New Testament and learn how each story points to the Gospel.
